Akshat Nauriyal works with audio-visual mediums to tell stories. As the founder and creator of Now Delhi, India's first internet based documentary series on emerging sub- cultures, he has always been intrigued by stories that lie embedded within real life. NowDelhi features short stories on alternative or youth cultures like Graffiti, Performance, Digital Art, Independent Music and Social Change emerging out of the country. With a specific emphasis on impact based social change projects, NowDelhi supports these underground and on-the-fringes movements, often overlooked by the mainstream media.
As a musician, Akshat is one of the founding members of Delhi based band Another Vertigo Rush. The band is regarded as one of the country’s first post-progressive rock bands, going on to win acclaim and awards, both locally and internationally. He has also played drums for bands like Them Clones and Teddy Boy Kill and is currently collaborating with Delhi based audio-visual Collective BLOT (Basic Love of Things). Over time, he hopes to explore the synergies between the audio and visual mediums, and newer forms of storytelling. Born in this age of the digital revolution, Akshat truly believes in the infinite potential of the internet, especially for creatives.
